The writer of Hebrews seems to have had much experience with ships and sailing, employing several nautical terms to convey spiritual truths. Today, Mike looks at those terms, their meaning and application our participation in the Kingdom of God.
"We must pay more careful attention, therefore, to what we have heard, so that we do not drift away."
"Christ was faithful as a Son over His house–whose house we are, if we hold fast to our courage and the hope of which we boast."
"We have come to share in Christ if we hold firmly till the end the confidence we had at first. "
"Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful."
"Let us draw near with confidence to the throne of grace, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need."
"This hope we have as an anchor of the soul, a hope both sure and steadfast and one which enters within the veil, where Jesus has entered as a forerunner for us."
